What is Pilates?
Pilates was created by Joseph Pilates. He named his method ‘Control-ology’ and created a set of principles and exercises combined with specialist apparatus that create opportunities for functional human movement. He was way ahead of his time in his methods and understanding of the body. We still work with his ideas and equipment to this day whilst constantly updating and acknowledging new studies of anatomy knowledge.
I came to Helen's classes following years of back pain and was supported, educated and entertained by a very special person. It is a calm, welcoming and inclusive space. As you arrive you start to feel better and come away at the end always feeling that positivity that is part of the class. iPilates is always coming up with new ideas and techniques and finding ways of developing their skills and consequently enhancing the experience of their students.
